Like most Ops managers, I’ve come across and dealt with my fair share of IT disasters. I’ve gone the route of hiring an in-house staff, only to realize that it exhausted my budget and half the time I was paying for employees to sit around and wait for a disaster to strike. I’ve also gone the route of hiring an outside company to run my IT support, again only to find that I was being overcharged at every turn and I had no REAL immediate support, more like we were put into a “Queue” and when our n…

It is theorized that the true age of the earth is about 4.6 billion years old, formed at about the same time as the rest of our solar system.
The first hominid, related to modern man but with less than one-third of the brain size, evolved about 5 million years ago. Archaic Homo Sapiens, with brains similar in size to modern man, but with larger faces and bodies, first appeared 500,000 years ago. Modern Homo sapiens evolved about 200,000 years ago, which means our species is less than 0.01 perce…

Perhaps, we might find stable market growth by 2010. The data without question paints an overwhelmingly picture. This report highlights potential solutions and many of the key issues involved in the necessary “mobile e-learning” global market.

As unemployment reaches 10% nationally, the 2009 projections reach over 2-million personal bankruptcies, and the continuation of the rising $11-trillion national debt for the next ten years. Given the deep economic turmoil, it is no wonder that millions of men and woman look to build their own small businesses that will generate over 75% of all new jobs in the United States.
What’s the good news? The home business deduction, a "home" defined as a house, apartment, condo, mobile home, boat or ot…

Heads up If you're getting rid of junk today: This is the first weekend that you can recycle your old televisions, computers and computer monitors for free in Oregon.

I read this article in the Oregonian today about Governor K's trip to China. It is reminiscent of everything we talked about regarding the Smart Grid & the New Economy at the last Clean Tech event.
Set against the backdrop of the Big 3 going to DC this last week to beg Congress for $25 billion, it seems especially poignant that little Oregon has a chance to position itself as
the production location for the new car economy.
